'In' Blossom

Day 51

Hi all! Today's nails are painted with the subject of thousands of tattoos, pieces of art, and have even been recreated using hundreds of thousands of pieces of hand-painted popcorn in the recent movie Coraline....Cherry Blossoms! Reader Nicole sent in some awesome ideas, and along with it, some fun pictures of stuff she'd done, one of which was cherry blossoms, which totally inspired me to do these!! Thanks Nicole!



I used OPI La-Pazitively Hot matte as a base, with a thin layer of Zoya Stephanieover top to tone down the hot pink. For the branches, I used Zoya Angelina, and for the blossoms I used China Glaze White on White and dry brushed a little of the OPI La-Pazitively Hot matte in the centers. Topped off with 2 coats of Seche Vite top coat.

Day 50

Today's nails are dedicated to Twitter. Yes, that's right, Twitter. The time-killing, 140 characters of joy that are a true best friend of the procrastinator. (Like myself) I am horribly addicted to the site, and find myself checking it far more often than I probably should. I love the site, because it gives celebs a chance to connect with fans, friends a chance to keep up with friends, companies a chance to interact with their customers and fanbase, and stalkers a chance to keep up with their prey... Kidding on that last one. ;) So here's to Twitter, I salute you. And as that salute, I give you... the fail whale bird nails. :-P (and twitter logo)



I used China Glaze For Audrey as a base, with China Glaze White on White for the white, and as a base for the birds, and OPI Pumped Up Pumpkin from the ULTA Glow Get a Treat Halloween Mini set used for the birds. :)

I was so excited with how they turned out, I love the colors.

'Gildy' Pleasures

Day 49

Today's nails are kind of different than what I usually do, they are embellished by gilding them rather than painting designs. I used gold leaf for the effect, I crumpled up little pieces and gently placed on wet polish, and then let dry, and used my finger to brush of the excess that was sticking up.



I used Nubar Peacock Feathers as a base, which is one of the most gorgeous colors- the picture doesn't capture all the colors that it flashes, teals, greens, blues, purples! It's truly beautiful. I used gold leaf for the gold, which you can find at any craft store. Topped it off with 2 coats of Seche Vite top coat as usual. :)
