NARS Full Metal Jacket 2010
Good morning, Dear Reader!
Today I have another of the recent NARS rereleases, Full Metal Jacket. I had the original and thought it was the perfect gunmetal grey shimmer. The polish goes on a little thin, so it needed three coats, but it's super shiny and still the perfect gunmetal.

I'm thrilled with it. There are lots of greys out now, but this one is just right for me, so it's good to have it again.
That's the update for today, Dear Reader. Until next time, love and nail polish to you!

NARS Zulu 2010
Good morning, Dear Reader!
When I heard that Zulu would be made again, I was up in the air about whether to get it. I tried the original a few times, and my recollection of it is that I really wanted to like it, but it always looked blotchy on me so I couldn't. After a couple of years of seeing good pictures of Zulu (particularly The Polish Addict's) I figured I'd give it one more try with the new version, and it ends up that I like it a lot. I used three thin coats, and it's even and very shiny.
I took pictures of this one both in and out of direct sunlight. I like how it looks in direct light, but that's not an entirely accurate representation of how it looks on the nail in normal light. Here's Zulu in direct sunlight.

In the sun, you can see that Zulu is distinctly dark green, not black. In the shade, it's still green, but it takes a closer look to see that. This is how it looks on me in normal light.

So that's NARS' 2010 release of Zulu. I'm glad I got it - I feel like I'm finally "getting" what I'd previously been missing about Zulu. I no longer have the original to compare to it, but I know that's already been done - I can just tell you that from my experience, I don't miss the original because of the application, but this version was just fine for me.
That's what I have for you today, Dear Reader. Until next time, love and nail polish to you!

NARS Tokaido Express
Good evening, Dear Reader!
I just did a manicure using NARS Tokaido Express, and thought I'd give you a look at it. Unfortunately, this one's not terribly unique - I was really hoping for more. It's your run-of-the-mill dark plum shimmer. This is three coats over a base with a top coat.

NARS Platoon and a Big Welcome
Good afternoon, Dear Reader!
This afternoon's pictures are really just an excuse to post. The *real* reason I wanted to post is to welcome my friend Michelle to the wonderful world of blogging! She's the author of the new nail blog called A Stroke of Color, and a woman after my own heart with her love of all things Precision and Konad! I'll leave it to you, Dear Reader, to check her blog to find out the meaning of its creative name - there's more to this lady than nails! I've also added a link to her blog on my blogroll to make it easy for you to check in and see what Michelle is up to. I hope you all give her a warm welcome!
On to the pictures! It wouldn't be a real post without pictures, now would it? I dug some up for you that I've been hanging on to for a rainy day. They're of NARS Platoon, a well-named pale army green.
I have a couple of assignments for you now, Dear Reader. If you haven't yet entered to win the bottle of China Glaze's Moonpool I'm giving you, please do, and also please take a minute to check in on Michelle at A Stroke of Color. That's all for today - until tomorrow, love and nail polish to you!

In the Midnight Hour...
Hello, Dear Reader!

It's cheesy as heck, but since I now have the song stuck in my head, I thought I'd do a midnight post for NARS Rebel Yell. You can throw things at me now that you get it...
It's a great Fall color, but *way* too bland on its own. I think you know as well as I do what I did about that, Dear Reader... Plate number M62. This is the pattern I most wanted the plate for, but was afraid to use it because it's such a strong design and has such a clear center to it, but I figured out how to work with that and it was easy to apply. Here she is!
I'm thrilled with the results, and glad I finished it in time for a midnight post. If I'm going to have Rebel Yell stuck in my head, I'd like to share that with you, Dear Reader... There's one comment that I think would be hilarious in reply to this post, but obviously, I can't be the one to make it... I hope you do, Dear Reader!
Love and nail polish to you!
