From First to Last: As Time Passes By Tag

This is a tag that has been floating around for a while and I haven't technically been tagged by anyone but I really wanted to do this one and I'm glad I did because it's been fun (and cringe-worthy at the same time!).

Basically, all you have to do is post a picture from when you started blogging and one from very recently. Like a 'Then and Now' perspective on your life as a blogger.

Boy oh boy can I see an improvement in my nails and the pictures themselves.

My nails are longer, stronger and much more well looked after now than in the first photo.

I've recently started using an artificial light and changed my watermark so the whole thing looks a little more professional. I've also learnt that cropping the picture nice and close definitely works better for me.

Taking pictures of nails is hard and it takes a long time to learn what works for you. It sounds silly, but it's like muscle memory. My fingers can bend in to all kinds of positions now that they wouldn't have been able to two years ago and it's just from fidgeting around attempting to take great pictures of my nails!

I'm really happy with the way I have my pictures looking at the moment and actually take great pride in them. However, I'm sure I'll continue to learn and my technique will keep evolving throughout my time as a blogger.

TAG: Would You Rather.. Beauty Edition!

I just watched Jen's video on her blog & thought this tag was interesting so I thought I'd give it a go! 

QUESTIONS:

1.) Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks, and lipglosses or lose all of your palettes and eyeshadows?

- I would rather lose all of my palettes and eyeshadows hands down!

2.) Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?

- This is hard.. I hate it when my hair gets too long & out of shape but then again I don't think I could stand chopping all my hair off! Unless I HAD to. I choose.. never being able to cut it again!

3.) Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?

- Coral! I love coral cheek colours!

4.) If you had $1000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup? 

- As much as I love makeup I would rather spend that $1000 on clothes. I need more clothes right now, besides clothes can be more expensive so it would seem more worth it? 

5.) Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner, or eyeliner as lipstick? 

- Eeeek.. umm.. eyeliner as lipstick I guess!

6.) Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?

- I have never been Sephora but I'd rather shop there, more variety! :)

7.) Would you rather only use one eyeshadow color or one lip color for the rest of your life? 

- One lip colour I guess, I don't really experiment with my lip colour much so I guess I could live with that.

8.) Would you rather wear winter clothes in summer or summer clothes in winter?

- Definitely winter clothes in summer, seeing as summer in the UK isn't really that hot? Besides I hate being cold! 

9.) Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year round? 

- Bright nail colours because there is more variety!

10.) Would you rather give up your favorite lip product or your favorite eye product?

- I would rather give up my favourite lip product. I'm more of an eye than a lip person if that makes sense? lol.

11.) Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a ponytail or a messy bun?

- Messy bun!

12.) Would your rather never be able to paint your nails again or never use lipgloss?

- I can live without painting my nails but I'd rather not use lipgloss ever again seeing as I'm not much of a lipgloss person anyway? 

13.) Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all or sharpie them in everyday?

- Ahhhh this one is hard! Hmm.. I guess shave my eyebrows :/ Sharpie eyebrows would look horrible! If I had no eyebrows I could draw them in with something else? or just have my fringe in a way that covers it so you can't see where my eyebrows would be anyway? I still can't imagine not having eyebrows though :(

14.) Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish?

- Live without nail polish of course! Nail polish is just nail polish.. Makeup is like makeeeeupppppp!!

1. My favourite colour is blue (in case you hadn't noticed!)

2. I'm currently finishing up my second year of university. I'm studying for a degree in Accounting and Finance but I don't think I want to go in to that profession anymore.

3. My favourite quote/saying is 'This too shall pass' (info)

4. Before I do anything in the morning, I have to make my bed. I can't stand unmade beds!

5. I am always listening to music. I mean always. It's either on in the background or I'll have my headphones in, even when I'm in public. 

6. I can pretty much fall asleep and wake-up on demand at any time of day and in most situations! But I can never get to sleep on planes no matter how hard I try.

7. I love big dogs. German Shepherds are my favourite and I've been dreaming of getting one for years. I'll get one when I have enough time to raise her up.

8. My favourite food is sandwiches of any sort. My favourite filling is chicken and bacon mayo with lettuce.

9. I have two younger brothers. They are 12 and 18.

10. I prefer night time to day time.

1. My head is full of useless movie trivia but I can’t remember anything I’m taught in school.

2. I’m addicted to Call of Duty. It's not just for guys. I rule at it to be honest, I beat one of my guy friends and he refuses to play with me any more for fear of losing to a girl. Man pride is stupid.

I always surprise myself with what I am able to do.

In University this year, I had to do a Maths and Stats module. For example - I haven't done maths since I was 16, and I had to drop it in my first year of A-Levels because it was too hard. But I managed to pull it off this year and it ended up becoming one of my favourite topics.

I'm creative.

A lot of people were shocked when they found out it was my ambition to become an Accountant. Everyone expected me to pursue Photography. To be honest, so did I until I found out I could get in to a good businees school with my qualifications in Photography, Media Studies and IT.

I'm really independent and always have been.

I try really hard never to be too dependent on anyone and I'm not afraid to do anything on my own (but I draw the line at eating in restaurants and going to the cinema). I have friends who won't do much by themselves and it really limits you in life.

4. Post a picture you love.

I took this picture as part of my work for A-Level Photography. I should've got an A, but my teacher didn't like me. ARGH.

Thanks again Kathy and Dionela. I love this award. It was fun to do and I love reading other peoples'. I feel like I know everyone that little bit better once I have seen their answers.
