Golden Rose Diamonds 09

Hallo ladies,

Sorry I have not been posting much now that it's finally warm I've been busy Spring cleaning the house, working in my garden and pretty much doing everything else in between. Last night I had planned on doing my mani for Pink Wednesdays but my nails had other plans for me!! I was washing all the windows yesterday and my nails decided to break on both freaking hands :( both thumbs on each hand my index finger on the right hand and my middle finger on the left GRRRRRRRRRRRR.

So no pink mani for today BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO maybe my nails will have grown back enough next Wednesday to show you a pink mani. I did take pictures of the mani's I did on Sunday and Tuesday.

Here's the mani from Sunday Golden Rose Diamonds 09 it's a beautiful dark gray holographic base polish with every color of the rainbow in it, everytime I turned my nails in the light I was seeing a new color. I used 2 coats to get full coverage.

So what do you think about this polish? Do you have any Golden Rose Holographic polishes and if yes how do you like them?

Thanks for looking,
Kesha

My first Golden Rose

Awhile ago, my mum went back to Hong Kong and came back with a few polishes for me :). One of the polishes she bought was Gold Rose #39. As soon as I applied it, I thought the shade was really similar to Zoya Crystal's base colour. I love it all the same though, I really do think blue is beginning to grow on me too :). First photo is taken indoors with natural light and the following two under the sun.

Golden Rose 119 & Plate XL A

Good morning, Dear Reader!

I tried out a new to me brand for today's manicure, Golden Rose.  Golden Rose 119 is an almost black holo (I've seen it called black, but next to black it looks dark charcoal).

The bottle for this one is super small at 6 ml ( as opposed to the standard 15 ml), but the price is proportionately lower so it's just like buying a tiny amount at a time.  As for using the tiny bottle and brush for application, it was a little weird due to bottle size, but along the lines of the old Laura Mercier bottles rather than a mini.  I wish the brush were better because the polish itself is very nice, with the brush being the only drawback for me.  The application was unusually smooth and even for a holo (no "bald spots" like with Nfu Ohs, China Glaze OMG's, or Sally Hansen Magicals), it only took two coats to be even and opaque with a better than average drying time, and when dry the surface of the nail is mirror smooth.

After I applied Golden Rose 119 and was surveying my work, I thought that the polish wasn't as holographic as I'd like it to be, which prompted the memory of an entire post from a while back where I told you what a difference Nfu Oh Aqua Base makes under holos.  Then I remembered my lengthy holo kick last summer, during which I consistently used Aqua Base and found it livened up every holo polish I used over it, which leads me to believe that Golden Rose 119 needs another run over Aqua Base.

To perk it up in the meantime, I stamped my tips with a pattern from tip plate XL A using Nfu Oh 61 for the stamping, and here's what I came up with.

Golden Rose 119 Nail Polish & Plate XL A
Golden Rose 119 Nail Polish, Two Coats, with Plate XL A
It's not bad, but I'm still kicking myself for using the wrong base.

That's about it for today, Dear Reader.  Until next time, love and nail polish to you!

December haul

December was a quiet month for me, I needed to recuperate from my splurging spree in November haha. My mum came back from her trip to Hong Kong, so I also got my hands on some lovely international polishes ^^. The first two photos are taken indoors under natural light and the Sally Hansen Nail Prisms are taken indoors with flash.
Dec haul1

Firstly, the polishes from Hong Kong :). I didn't specify which polishes to buy - just the brand and colour suggestions - so these were my mum's choices. I'm loving the Golden Rose polishes, the mini bottles look so cute next to the Alessandro. She also bought what she thought was a grey polish, but it turned out to be a matte top coat lol. I love my mum ♥

Golden Rose 36, 40, 28 and Alessandro International 348

And some lovelies from Paddy's market :D.

Ooh, I also bought Claires Mood Polish in Calm/Wild which I forgot to take a photo of.

Now with new collections coming out, I won't feel as guilty spending money on them! :P I'm especially eyeing China Glaze's Anchors Away collection, what about you?

How to not be selected for Jury duty 101

My mission to not get picked for jury duty was a total success! So I thought I would lend my tips to my other civic duty shirkers!
First consider where you live and what "type" of community it is.Mine is Super conservative, rich, republican, stick up the but hard core Southern Christian extreemists. So yes this was not too hard for me. :)

Juicy tips and a bad pun fauxnad!

I was in a green juicy mood so I pulled out Golden Rose Fashion color #52Jellyish nearly neon, juicy green yum!
Even the 90+ year old Neighbor lady (I sit with so her daughter can get out of the house for a few hours), loved this color and kept having to touch it. She was wearing Neon pink tips.

This color makes me happy!
And now a bad pun fauxnad....

I know how cruel of me to leave you hanging.Well here you are more pictures of #119 and it's dark holo sexiness!Oh yes the base is black, not charcoal or brown.

Golden Rose Swatches

As promised here are my Golden Rose SwatchesGet a snack this is a looong one!
First I want to do the colors that Mary sent extra. These are Golden Rose USA's top sellers.

#40 from the Paris line.A golden base with gold glitter. It is sheer so I layered 2 thin coats over a taupe, 20 coats and you can't see the taupe at all. I believe that you could make this opaque in 4 coats.

Golden Rose USA review

I have been on a hunt to find e-tailers here in the US that carry overseas brands.SCORE! I tracked down Golden Rose USA who carries Golden Rose a Turkish Nail polish brand.I roamed around the site (drooling) looking for the down side. Good prices, Free shipping on orders over $20.00, huge selection. OK so I did a search via google for complaints or bad reviews etc....Not a thing. So I decided to
