Pink Wednesday!! Claire's Glitz and Glam

Hallo my fellow NP lovers :)

Today is Pink Wednesday because of the movie Mean Girls, “The Plastics” I even went out last week a bought the movie for my ever growing DVD collection :)Here in Germany the move is called Girls Club on the cover but on the dvd it has it's real name on it Mean girls thats one thing I hate here in Germany that they change the movie names :(

Ok onto my pink mani I picked out Claire's Glitz and Glam I got it in a swap, it was a 3 layered polish but because of shipped it all mixed together (but I like it these way) Glitz and Glam is a hot pink polish with small multi glitter and hex glitter it also dries matte but I used a coat coat, I also did 2 coats to get full coverage.

Sorry my middle finger nail is shorter then the others (I broke it again) but I refuse to file them all down again!!

So what do you think about this mani?

Thanks for looking,
Kesha

♪♫ We could have had it all, rolling in the deep...

This blue base is a Claire's mood polish that is no longer moody. It doesn't change colour to the 'warm' shade any more unless I expose it to extreme temperatures like earlier when I sat with my hands on front of my heater for 10 minutes and then it just went quickly back to the cold shade.
Has anyone else found this with their mood polishes?

November Debut

This mani is practically an exact duplicate of one I did a few months back just with different colours and a matte top coat.
I would have done something totally kick ass and original for my November debut mani, especially considering I haven't posted for a week now. But since I thought my camera was broken I obviously wasn't expecting to be able to post one but what the heck, here it is.

Check out my index finger! It's never been so long. They're normally so weak and I guess, because I use my index finger the most, the corners snap off every few days so normally I keep them quite short but I've been using OPI's Original Nail Envy for over a week and I think my nails are stronger for it.

Hulk Fail

I was going for a Hulk look with this one. Anyone who is familiar with the comics or the films will know Bruce Banner wears his trademark purple shorts whenever he's angry!

The little pink bits you see are some weird tiny foil strips from Viva La Nails. It's hard to come across ideas for using these.
I tried to make a line with them but ended up just making a mess instead!

I'm staying away from home for a few days and trying to travel light which means I won't be packing many nail supplies or my beast of a camera so I won't be able to post anything for a while. I should be back on Friday.

Mood Swings - Some Strange Goings On

When I first got these mood Polishes in my swap with Emily, I posted a quick swatch of them. Click here to see it. At that time, they weren't changing with temperature, but when I tried them on after a few days, the difference between hot and cold was obvious. It's very strange, but it's like they were broken and now they're fixed!

This is Flirty/Shy. The lighter blue on the nail is warm and the dark colour towards the tips is cold. I used a butterfly from my Fimo cane and some sequins on my ring finger, both from Viva La Nails.

Blinding Coral

Do not adjust your monitorThis polish really is painfully bright and therefore I love it!Paradise is a great Coral neon from Claire'sThank you Claire's for searing peoples retinas with my fingernails!

My Son asked me to take it off because he couldn't see.
If you flip someone the bird wearing this...you are guaranteed they will see it!
The formula was nice, shear but smooth. This is 4 coats,

Claire's Flirty/Shy Mood polish

So I bought one of these for my gorgeous friend Felineand that perfect blue just kept taunting me, so I went back and picked up a bottle for myself. This is 2 coats with no top coat.It dries matte as you can see, and rather fast.
A quick shot with the blow dryer
and it quickly starts back to my blue mood french mani.

Girly Franken and Claire's Flakies swatches

So I thought I should probably go a little more subtleas far as my polish, for hubby's disability hearing yesterday. Well I frankened a very nice sparkly peachy pink.I wish the sparklies showed better. It's a crystal looking large particle sparklie finish.
And a major pain to remove. But it is pretty and a nice color for when I have to go "normal".
I went to the mall to see if Claire's had the

Claire's Mood Nail Polish Daring/Innocent

Good morning, Dear Reader!

Today's Nails of the Day is Claire's Mood Polish in Daring/Innocent.  It's a creme two coater, and Innocent is a peachy beige that seems to be the for warmth and Daring is a grey that's where the polish is cooler.  On longer nails, it makes its own little Funky French from the free edge being cooler than the nail bed, and the Claire's works really well.

Here it is with top coat.

I love novelty nail polishes, and this one is really good.

That's what I have for you today, Dear Reader.  Until tomorrow, love and nail polish to you!

Heart broken? MegPeg to the rescue!

Chris and I have been a bit heart borken the past several daysafter the sudden passing of a great musician, Peter Steele. Type O Negative has been a long time favorite band of ours all the way back before the mainstream world had ever heard of them or swooned to the sound of Peter's deep powerful voice. So sad, so young!I desperately needed a cheer up mani and good old Claire's MegPegjumped right

The Ultimate Mall Manicure

Good morning, Dear Reader!

Today's Nails of the Day did not start out as, but evolved into, the quintessential mall mani.

We start with a trip over to Claire's and pick up the last bottle of Rocker Blue, which leaves us with the question of whether this is current or dc'd. It's chock full o' DBP and I'm waiting for some body part to fall off as a result, but the color is so pretty, and I'm only human! It took four coats to be completely even and opaque.

After our trip to Claire's, we wouldn't be angst-ridden 13-year-olds if we didn't drop in at Hot Topic and pick up a Fauxnad. It's not called a Fauxnad at all, it's something like "nail stamping kit," but I've always just thought of knock-off Konad stuff as Fauxnad (Faux + Konad = Fauxnad). Also, they discontinued it a while back, so in order to make our rebellious little trip to Hot Topic, we'd have to hop on into our time machine first. That being done, we can stamp away!

The HT plates are not numbered, so there's no way to specify which of them this is, and I use Konad White Special Nail Polish for the stamping. And I'll be danged if I haven't mastered that metal scraper!

That, Dear Reader, is a mani you can only get after a trip to the mall! Even though I'm 37, this manicure would work to get under my mom's skin if she were around. I can just hear her say, "Oh, Siobhan..." while she'd make a face looking at anything she didn't care for. What a hoot!

That's all for now, Dear Reader. Until next time, love and nail polish to you!

Claire's Magic Nail Polish: Our Next Drawing!

Good afternoon, Dear Reader!

I was just out and about, and discovered that I have a Claire's nearby.  I didn't think I did!  I peeked inside in hopes of spying a Claire's Magic nail polish, and I did one better - I spotted two!  I picked up the extra for you, Dear Reader, so we're having our next giveaway.  It runs through next Thursday at this time (one week), is open to all readers worldwide, and I think this time I managed to set it up so your names don't show after you enter.  The first one to enter will be the guinea pig for that, but you don't need to enter your full name anyhow, and your email address will only be used to notify you that you've won.

So what is this Claire's Magic I'm all fired up about?  Well, it's Magic!  I applied three coats, the third just for good measure, and it went on really smoothly and evenly.  The first coat looks like it'll be transparent, but then the second coat fills it out, and the third for good measure gave it real depth.  I read the ingredients, and I think it has phthalates, but I'm only human!  I'm wearing it anyhow.  Here it is, in sunlight on my balcony.

Isn't it great?  I'd only seen wintertime, no-sunlight pics of it and fell in love with it, but it's even better than I'd hoped.  Here's the entry form for your bottle of it.

That's all for today, Dear Reader.  Until tomorrow, love and nail polish to you!
