♪♫ This could really be a good life...

This week is shaping up to be a very very good one! I had a job interview yesterday for a Christmas temporary position as a sales girl in a record shop which I nailed so I'll be starting that next week. Then today, I got a call from another job I applied for which is basically a Chalet Girl position but without the Alps! It's live-in so it also means I'll be able to move out of parents' place for a while. I have to go for an interview/trial kind of thing this Sunday and if I'm successful, I'll start in January - I'll keep you guys posted on that!

And to top it all off, this blog hit 2000 followers today! Thank you all so much for reading and following! I hope I say it often enough but I really don't think I could say it enough. It means the world to me that you all like my little piece of the internet enough to keep coming back and showing your support. THANK YOU!

Today is a Wednesday so here comes the pink!

Day 10: Gradient Nails

Today's challenge is gradient nails and it's also Wednesday which means PINK. Sorry for the brief post but I have such a busy day ahead, I even had to get up a little early to schedule this because I won't have another spare minute today between work and evening plans. I'm going to see Charlie Simpson tonight which is super exciting!

Don't forget to check out Cristina and Rie's gradient nails too!

Like A Broken Record

Todays Pink Wednesday post is insanely similar to last week's but I love the comic book/onomatopoeia design so much so I had to try it again! This week, it's a bit more exaggerated and 'in your face'!

POW, PINK WEDNESDAY!

You may have heard of a little salon called Wah Nails?! Well I found out that they are open to recruiting anyone with a knack for nail art, nail technician qualifications aren't required. So if there are any UK nail art enthusiasts who think they'd like to apply, check out their careers page. I would apply myself but I live too far away from their salons and I'm in no position to move at the moment so it's going on my 'what I want to be when I grow up' list!

Today's Pink is Nails Inc Shoreditch and is definitely not something I would pick out on any normal day but I like to step out of my comfort zone on Pink Wednesdays and try out the colours in my stash that normally get overlooked. I thought I would be removing this colour as soon as the pictures were taken but I'm oddly enamoured with it! It's a creme formula so I used 4 coats for maximum opacity then spiced it up with some of Wah Nails' designs, Pow! and Basketcase.

Flowers in the Window

I was ready for work an hour early today. Not on purpose, I just got my times muddled up but luckily I caught a glimpse of the clock just as I was walking out the front door! So I thought I would slip in a quick post before I leave.

This pink has been in my collection since before I even started blogging and is nearly all used up. I have to really work to scrape the polish out of the bottom of the bottle but it's totally worth it to get this classy pink on my nails. If more pinks were like this, I would probably wear the colour more often but the only ones I ever see seem to be too bright or glittery or metallic for my taste.

Pink Wednesday: I Missed You, Half Moons

I was scrolling through my archives a few days ago and remembered how much I like half moon manicures. It's been ages since I did one so I'm rocking the look today for Pink Wednesday.

I used BYS Flirty Sparkle as a base, Collection 2000 Moonlight Shine applied with a brush for the moons and some bullion from Born Pretty Store. All topped off with a coat of NYC Top Coat.

Models Own Utopia and Purple Smash Up

It's Pink Wednesday and after a few weeks since my last PW post I'm back with a brand new polish to show you!

I don't have very many light colours in my stash at all, and even fewer are pastel shades. I decided to pick up this colour from Models Own since the summer is coming and I want to wear some brighter, more jolly colours on my nails! I wasn't sure if I would like it but I really do and I've worn it quite a few times since I bought it.

The formula isn't great on this polish which I can only describe as pasty. There was a lot of dragging and splotchiness but it's such a pretty colour that I can put up with its pitfalls.

While I was in Boots I noticed a lone bottle of Purple Smash Up on the shelf so of course I grabbed it straight away. I was really surprised to see it as I didn't know the colour ones were released yet, let alone that you could buy them in store - I thought you'd only be able to get them online - so I think I was just in the right time at the right place but I'm still puzzled as to why it was there because this was at least a week ago and as far as I'm aware, they only launched online five days ago.

I think the Models Own Smash Up polishes are the first decent crackles that are readily available here in the UK, especially now that there are quite a few colours to choose from with more on the way. The Barry M Nail Effects just don't do it for me because the colours are so boring and basic.

If you enlarge the picture, you'll see that this polish is metallic. There are tiny pieces of blue, purple and even pink glitter.

My First Pink Wednesday

Pink Wednesdays is a great little scheme thought up by the ladies from Colour Coated, Glitta Gloves and Life and Polish. The premise is really simple. On Wednesdays, you wear pink polish and post it on your blog. If you want to join in, just click here to see more details.
Today is my first pink Wednesday!
I don't post (or even wear) many pink manicures, but when I was deciding which pink to use, I saw that I have way more than I thought and I hardly ever use them so this will be a great way for me to get more use out of my pink polishes.

Pink Wednesday!! Claire's Glitz and Glam

Hallo my fellow NP lovers :)

Today is Pink Wednesday because of the movie Mean Girls, “The Plastics” I even went out last week a bought the movie for my ever growing DVD collection :)Here in Germany the move is called Girls Club on the cover but on the dvd it has it's real name on it Mean girls thats one thing I hate here in Germany that they change the movie names :(

Ok onto my pink mani I picked out Claire's Glitz and Glam I got it in a swap, it was a 3 layered polish but because of shipped it all mixed together (but I like it these way) Glitz and Glam is a hot pink polish with small multi glitter and hex glitter it also dries matte but I used a coat coat, I also did 2 coats to get full coverage.

Sorry my middle finger nail is shorter then the others (I broke it again) but I refuse to file them all down again!!

So what do you think about this mani?

Thanks for looking,
Kesha

Pink Wednesday!! Pink Franken!!

Hello my fellow nail lovers,

Today is Pink Wednesday and I picked a franken polish that I made just for Pink Wednesday :) it's a beautiful light pink with a bit of silver shimmer and matte finish, I have not given it a name yet maybe you can help me on that? I used 2 coats for full coverage.

After using my pink franken I wanted to do a little konding so I picked plate M57 and polish Mirror Shine Pink from Avon. I need to use my Mirror Shines more often.

I love the way this mani turned out in my mind the 2 finishes go great together (matte and foil)

Here's a close up of my franken, so what do you think? Help me pick out a name.

If you wish to be apart of are Pink team go (HERE) to sign up the more the merrier

*UPDATE* I'm still counting the giveaway entries so I will let you know who won soon.

Do you like this mani?

Thanks for looking.
