Day 2: Orange Nails

Today marks the second day of the 31 Day Challenge and also my 400th blog post! Today's criteria is 'Orange Nails'. I can boast a total of 2 orange polishes in my collection and this is the most recent one I purchased. I really need to get some more because I looove wearing this orange. It's from Miss Sporty and it doesn't have a name, just a number - 323.

I used 3 coats of the unnamed Miss Sporty and a top coat of NYC.

I added a coat of Essie Matte About You and I absolutely love the result. It reminds me of orange sorbet ice cream. Yum!

Head over to see how Rie and Cristina are getting along with the challenge!

Broken Nailed

Consider this a slightly early Pink Wednesday post!

My nails are in a sorry state at the moment due to my dwindling supply of OPI Nail Envy. I need a new bottle and I normally save my credit on Valued Opinions to buy it on Amazon but I've recently neglected my account so I need to do a few more surveys before I have enough virtual pennies.
I've been meaning to write a review of the Nail Envy for a while and this shortage has reminded me how much I love it and need to tell you all about it! Basically, it's the sole reason I have been able to grow my nails and keep them long, I can't recommend it highly enough.

Flowers in the Window

I was ready for work an hour early today. Not on purpose, I just got my times muddled up but luckily I caught a glimpse of the clock just as I was walking out the front door! So I thought I would slip in a quick post before I leave.

This pink has been in my collection since before I even started blogging and is nearly all used up. I have to really work to scrape the polish out of the bottom of the bottle but it's totally worth it to get this classy pink on my nails. If more pinks were like this, I would probably wear the colour more often but the only ones I ever see seem to be too bright or glittery or metallic for my taste.

Forever Alone

I didn't stop whining all day today. All my friends are starting to move home for the summer but I'm still here so there's not much to do and all I want to do is party! However, I have quietened down a bit this evening. Me and my housemate had a delicious Chinese takeaway and we're just chilling in front of the TV waiting for Made In Chelsea to come on. I know it's a terrible show but it's so addictive and I'm starting to actually like a few of the characters.

Shake Me Down

Sorry I haven't properly got back in to my blogging routine yet. I though that once I finished my exams I would be back to posting regularly but things are still very hectic. Anyway, I'm sure you're tired of hearing my excuses so I won't give you any more. Just know that I'm slowly but surely getting my blog-mentum back!

Mixing It Up

I had my last exam on Monday and it's such a relief to resume normal human activities like sleeping and eating! And of course it means I can get back to blogging more than once a week. Thank you to everyone that has liked my new Facebook page. I'm still working on getting lots of pictures up and just deciding how best to organise it!

Legless

Today has been a very busy and exciting day. I got my car back on the road today after 6 months of relying on my feet, public transport and parents to get around! I don't mind walking everywhere, in fact I've grown to quite enjoy it and still plan to walk as much as I can, but it's really nice to know that I can just hop in the car whenever I feel like it and go wherever I want. I really missed that freedom when I was pedestrianised!

I set out with plate BM214 planning to use the Stag design as Emily requested on a recent post. However, the Stags came out looking like vertically challenged cows! I couldn't get the horns or legs to stick to my stamper. This could just be my stamper because it has been a bit uncooperative of late but it could also be that the design is just too fiddly. I'd love to know if anyone's tried this design yet and found the same as me, or whether it's just something I'm doing that's making it go wrong.

So I moved on to another pattern from the plate - this celtic, swirly design. I kind of struggled to think of original ways to use it at first but I like the ornate way it turned out.

Houndstooth

I forgot how much I love this pattern. I had so many compliments about my nails yesterday. I think this houndstooth pattern is great because you can't tell which colour is stamped on, it's so seamless, the only problem is the size of the all over Bundle Monster patterns - they're quite small and don't always cover the whole nail which is when you get seams starting to appear!

Dotty

I'm heading home for the Christmas holidays tomorrow (yay!) which means it's going to be a bit hectic and all my stuff's going to be packed up so there may not be a mani but I'll try my best.

E.L.F Purple Pleaser Swatch (and with Konadding)

Here is E.L.F's Purple Pleaser. This comes very close to the colour I was expecting when I ordered Punk Purple last time which I was very disappointed with. But this colour definitely makes up for the disappointment.

So if you are buying one of these purples from E.L.F be aware that this is Purple Pleaser and Punk Purple looks dull pink IRL.

Then I added some stamping to the colour but I think it looked better before.

A Tragic Loss

I got into a little skirmish with a shower curtain and the shower curtain won. And it took the tip of my thumbnail with it!

This is a new polish that I found reduced in Tesco from the Barbara Daly Make-Up range. I haven't captured it very well in the photo, but it's a gorgeous, deep royal purple.

Oh no... not another matte mani?

Correct - it isn't. It's back to shiny today :D
I actually did a mani almost identical to this, just with slightly different polishes, just after I started this blog. You can see it here. Look how much my nails have changed!!

My Entry to PHD's 'Just Tips' Challenge

Wow, there have been a lot of posts this week! I am slowly running out of subjects so the rate of posting may slow down considerably in the next few weeks since I'm also going to be moving out again and back to University.

I want to share with you my entry to PHD's challenge last week - Just Tips - and let you know how I did this look. I did post a link to the challenge gallery a few days ago, but if you didn't see the rest of the amazing entries, go here.

I used E.L.F. Nude as a base to cover the yellow staining on my nails and Miss Sporty Top Coat for sticking on all of the sequins, which are from Poundland.

Blackberry Beauty

This is another polish from yesterday's haul. You can't see in this picture but it has tiny sparkles in it so it looks amazing on its own too.

These nails really remind me of Captain America! They just need a bit of blue to be the perfect match. I know how my nails will look when I go to see the film now :D

Back in Purple

Hey everyone. I'm back from my camping Holiday! It was great fun apart from the effort of putting up and taking down two 6 man tents!
I bought a selection of gems and sequins in Poundland last week so expect plenty of those in the coming days.

Adios Amigos (Again)

This will be the last post for a while again! I'm going camping this week and I'm only taking two Nail Polishes with me and obviously no computer! It will be tough but I'm sure I can try to soldier through.

Purple Polka Dot (Bikini)

I really like this polka dot design but it's so hard to get it to look perfect because of the Bundle Monster designs being so small. I might have to buy the Konad plate with the polka dots soon.
