Peripera Crystal Gold

I ordered four Peripera nail polishes off ebay a few weeks back and they arrived last week.  The four I got were Metallic Green, Crystal Gold, Crystal Beige and Crystal Brown.  Metallic Green was the only one I had seen swatches of (over on Pretty Random), the other three I just bought from the colour chart on the ebay listing - which means they were pretty much a stab in the dark.

If you don't know of Peripera nail polish, here's the low down.  They are a Korean brand with georgous round bottles with little metallic gold cats as the handles.  They also have a Rose range, which feature very long handles with rose motifs on them, but I haven't tried those.

Today's polish is from the Perfume range (the cat bottles) in Crystal Gold P024.  These cat handles have the extra wide brush, which I have to say is really growing on me now.  They also are scented when the polish is dry.

I know a lot of girls hate the smell, but I actually quite like it.  Except as Carly pointed out when she reviewed the Revlon scented nail polish, you don't want to be caught sniffing your fingers in public as it "makes you look like you have just picked at your bum and need to smell to see if you scratched a bit too far in". Girl you had me rolling on the floor with that line!

Anyway, back to this polish.  I love gold polish, and this one is right up there.  It's a cool toned gold, which is preference too.  This was two coats, no top coat.  A fabulous golden metallic foil.

This is what it looks like indoors, which is still beautiful.

Of course I have quite the selection of gold metallic foil polishes, so I went through my swatch sticks to find the three closest colours and finish matches. Here they are in the sun.

So even with my massive gold collection, I still didn't find an EXACT dupe, but that's just because I can see even the tiniest difference in colours!

More Peripera tomorrow.

Black and blingggggg!

Hi lovely readers <3 Today's mani is influenced by my love for dark nail polishes :) For some reason, whenever I'm stuck for ideas on what to wear, black is my go to shade (besides purple, of course). I applied two coats of Orly Matte vinyl onto my index and fifth fingers and two coats of Glitter Gal black onto my middle and thumb. For some extra bling, I layered two coats of Color Club Magic attraction over one coat of Ulta3 black satin.

I love how Magic attraction is so awesome and blingy <3. And of course, black totally jumps to life and shows off it's rainbow holo under the sun. I don't think the holo was photographed too well here, if you want to see it in it's fullest glory, check out my swatch here~ :)

Any lovers of black manis? ^^ Have a look at my Blog Birthday giveaway as well!

Beauty Haul.

Helloooo! Just thought I'd do a quick haul because I've bought a few beauty things lately..

Few weeks ago I made an order on sasa because I wanted to try some products.
Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner
Face Q All in One Facial Mask (3 boxes, 4 masks in each)
My beauty Diary Japanese Cherry Blossom Mask (10 masks)
Essential Nuance Airy Ultra Honey Air Mask.
I love everything! I'm probably gonna repurchase these when I've used them up except for the Dolly Wink Eyeliner, I like it, I like the brush ( I thought it was a felt tip but its actually a calligraphy brush pen kinda brush) but the only problem is that it doesn't seem to last long on the inner corners of my eyes.

My purchases from Superdrug, Boots & The Body Shop.
♥ Ardell lashes #109
♥ Nivea Essential Lipbalm
♥ L'oreal Telescopic Mascara (Waterproof)
♥ Revlon Nail Enamel #095 Facets of Fuchsia
♥ Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer #2 & #3
♥ Collection 2000 Volume Sensation XXL Mascara (Waterproof)
♥ The Body Shop Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder #03 Medium Matte
I have loads of boxes of lashes at home that I love but when I saw these Ardell lashes I had to get them, I believe they only just started selling them in the UK because this was the first time I saw them. L'oreal Telescopic <3 I finally got this, when I said I wished that Benefit's They're real had a waterproof formula.. well this is the equivalent! Out of the millions of mascaras I own this is probably the closest one to being "The one" for me! I never look at Collection 2000 but I heard a lot of good things about the concealer so I picked those up & they were doing a 3 for 2 in boots so I just picked up a mascara too, I haven't tried it yet but it seems quite dry, I'm not expecting much from it. Finally got the Body Shop bronzer which I've been wanting as well, mainly because I love the packaging & the actual honeycomb print on the bronzer lol. It is very good though, a perfect matte bronzer!

This is Revlon's Facets of Fuchsia, its the first Revlon polish I own, I always love their colours but I never buy them. Back in the days I never liked glitter polishes, I always found them quite tacky until recently, glitter polishes have developed majorly! I've had my eye on a few of Deborah Lippmann's glitter polishes but I haven't purchased any yet, then I walked into Superdrug & saw this, it just looks so nice I HAD TO get it! I hate fuchsia but this polish is actually really really nice, I love love loveeeeee it. It has a black jelly-ish base which fuchsia coloured small round glitters and larger hexagonal glitters.  It's also a dupe for Deborah Lippmann's Bad Romance, from looking at the pictures, I really can't see a difference. I just had to take a picture although my nails are in a terrible state, they were all breaking so I just cut them all down & my cuticles are super dry!

But yeah thats it, I always get carried away when writing..

Color Club Nouveau Vintage

Good morning, Dear Reader!

I have a couple of things to tell you about today, and the first is Color Club Nouveau Vintage* nail polish from their Fall 2011 Back to Boho Collection.  It's an interesting shimmer that's brown overall with a lot of gold and green in the shimmer.  It was good in two coats and dried completely in reasonable time.  Here it is in the sun, and I chose this picture because parts are less focused and you can see its sparkle well.

Color Club Nouveau Vintage Nail Polish, Two Coats

I also did a little filing for this manicure, partly because I needed some shaping and partly for product testing.  Sally Hansen sent their Nailgrowth Miracle Serum for me to try out, with the product claims being flawless cuticles and up to a 59% increase in growth in two weeks with daily use.  For the increases growth, the labeling isn't totally clear on the claim - it says 59%, I'm assuming that means up to 59%.  I figured for our purposes here, just hacking off some length and then looking at the change over a couple of weeks with it as compared to a set of older pics with a similar starting length covering the same time period would be sufficient to determine whether it makes a difference or not.  So really, I took off some length to see how fast it comes back.

That is Color Club Nouveau Vintage and my little extended testing project, so I think that's just about everything.  Until next time, Dear Reader, love and nail polish to you!

Ozotic 623 and black holo comparisons

Firstly, what was I thinking here with my nail length.  I had a break on my ring finger and god knows why I didn't file all my other nails down to match the length.  After looking at these photos, I promptly did just that, but for this post you have to put up with unevenness - Argh it's horrible, look away if you need to.

Today I have the new scattered large particle black holo, #623. Blaarrgghh.  What a big fat disappointment this polish is for me.  I was expecting so much.  So many of the 600 series polishes are so holoie and sparkly I was expecting this to be right up there.  Especially considering that the Ozotic linear black holo is so great!

Above picture is in full sun!! So disappointing! Below is taken indoors. This polish just looks speckled, like I've been painting the ceiling
with a roller and I have paint splatter on my nails (seriously I've done
this and it looks just like the indoor photo)

Even the sparkly angle shot doesn't pick up much holo.

So now, how does it compare to the other black holos?

Full sun shot from left to right:

Index Ozotic 623, middle Ozotic 526, Ring Glitter Gal black, Pinky Spectraflair franken.

Tilted angle to see the holo effect better.

I'll tell you about the main differences (or similarities) with all the polishes. Finish, colour, opacity and holoiness.

Finish - the new Ozotic 623 has the least shiny finish and is almost a little rough, not glitter rough, but certainly not baby butt smooth either.  The one with the glossiest finish was Glitter Gal.  All these pics were no top coat so you can see the actual polish finish.

Colour - The Glitter Gal polish was definitely the blackest. The new Ozotic 623 was next, then Ozotic 526 and my franken.  My franken is actually rather grey looking, probably because I added way too much spectraflair.  That franken was also made with the standard grade 1500-20, which to me makes polishes grayer than the course particle 1500-35 spectraflair.

Opacity - they are all really opaque.  You can almost get away with one coat for each of them.

Holoiness - My franken was easily the holoiest, followed by Ozotic 526.  It's hard to compare the scattered holo of 623 in with the others though, it really makes it look not holo at all.  I must say that my picture here of Glitter Gal black is way better than my original swatch, it actually looks more holo now, so I'm not as disappointed with it as I once was.

My pick - Probably my franken, cause it was so cheap and quick to make.  But from the commercial polishes, definitely Ozotic 526.

Gold glitter tips

Hi ladies~ My baby step back into nail art after 2 weeks of nothingness involves something pretty simple - glitter tips! I applied two coats of OPI Honk if you love OPI which is a mini and I absolutely despise it cos I can't control the brush as well! :( Anyway. I wasn't all too fond of this darkened red-purple shade so I decided to add a little more to it, and glitter it was. Two coats of China Glaze 5 golden rings was applied to the tips.I was actually a little lazy with this and dabbed the glitter on with the brush instead of sponging...hehe :P

honk if you love opi1

The following two photos are more colour accurate of the base polish. I found my camera didn't like the gold glitter and reacted by making the above photo whiter looking.

honk if you love opi2

honk if you love opi3

Another simple mani but I assure you that once I get into the swing of things again they will be a little more interesting than layering. As much as I love it, I feel like a bit more than it! Meanwhile, don't forget to check out my Blog Birthday giveaway.

Camping :)

So for the Bank Holiday weekend I went camping again, just like last Bank Holiday in May, same people, different place. I wasn't gonna go this time because my driving test is coming up & I thought I'd have a driving lesson  but my instructor took the Monday off to go carnival so I decided to go kinda last min, managed to pack everything in time :)

We went Sheerness this time, our family made our way straight after work on Saturday & it started to rain just as we got in the car, not a nice start but it did stop after a while and a Rainbow appeared, two actually! So pretty especially when you are on the motorway. On the way we had to go on a bridge which I believe is called the Sheppey Crossing, never been on a bridge like it, everyone in the car was just like wow & so amazed & excited except for my sis-in-law, bless her, she was literally frightened & near tears, she had her head down the whole time there & back.

Anyway just over an hour later we arrived at Sheerness Holiday Park, wasn't a long drive at all because I managed to stay awake the whole time. When we got there our tent was already up because a few guys went earlier with the tents & put them up before everyone got there, 3 were up & they were putting up the last tent which took AGES, it kept going wrong lol. It got dark pretty quickly and I just spent the time pumping up everyone's air mattress' and we all just chilled for a bit before eating chicken congee before bed. I couldn't sleep the first night, it was freezing cold, I slept for about 2 hours?!

Got up around 6:30am on Sunday, spent the day taking the kids to the park, had a BBQ, napping, taking some of the kids to the arcade whilst the others went swimming, taking the kids to the funfair nearby and lazing around. At night we took the kids to the main area of the Holiday Park where the bar is & stuff like that because the kids wanted to go to the "disco" lol, its to packed in there at night, there was live music and all but the kids didn't even end up dancing around, they chose to play snooker instead lol. It was so nice at night, the sky was filled with stars, never seen so much in my life & that night there were 4 green glowy things circulating around in the sky, it was going on for ages and noone had any idea what it was, I made the kids believe it was aliens haha. There are a lot of rabbits there too but they only come out late at night when everyone is asleep, I only saw one during the day though because I didn't get out of the tent at night. They are so cuteee, first time I've ever seen a rabbit!

Monday morning I got up around 7am, I'm always the first to get up lol. But yeah didn't do much, we were planning to leave in the afternoon so everyone just packed up their tent & left the biggest tent up so we could sit in there. We planned to have a BBQ and then leave but around 12pm one of the workers there came & told us we was meant to be gone by 11am, apparently it was in the "welcome pack", noone even looked at that lol! But yeah it was okay because we just relocated to someone elses house & had the BBQ there instead. & yeah that was pretty much it, well all that I'm bothered to write about! I didn't take that many photos this time, I was too lazy to carry my camera around everywhere, just took a few random photos & the kids took some too.

I had a good time, its good fun especially for the kids & there was about 30 of us which was nice. Now I'm back in London & reality is stressing me out. I haven't had a good day at all but I hope you've all had a lovely weekend. xx
